"Belver blew the socks off the audience from their first set and didn't drop the quality throughout the evening. A huge amount of energy, enthusiasm, skill & good humour shines out of their music. Listeners weren't just tapping their feet, they were rocking in their chairs. The mixture of melodeon, whistle, fiddle, flute, guitar, bagpipes, concertina & stomp box gives scope for a wide variety of musical textures. Most of the tunes were English trad or recently written, with a range of songs from ballads to Music Hall. If anyone's got a late slot to fill in a festival this summer, bear them in mind. They are a blast & I hope we'll be hearing a lot more of them in future."
